Rules & Regulations
There shall be a maximum of 9 events in the British Women's Team Cup. Each Team’s 8 highest scoring events will combine to make the Teams final total, allowing the lowest scoring event to be discounted.
All teams are requested to register with the British Women's Team Cup co-ordinator Jon Miles (email@example.com) before 1 March each year. All teams shall pay a registration fee of £35 by bank transfer and email the completed registration form to Jon Miles
Riders may change teams at any time during the year, but any points they have gained will stay with the team they have won them for. Any changes to riders registered with a team should be notified to Jon Miles. A newly named team can enter the British Women's Team Cup competition at any time, subject to paying their registration fee to Jon Miles.
Team’s can field a maximum number of 6 riders in each event. The first 4 riders in each team will count for British Women's Team Cup points
Where teams wish to enter more than 6 riders in a race then they can enter 2 teams of 4 riders (Team A and Team B) who will need to compete in different designed jerseys; in the event that this is used only occasionally during the season the Team A points will be counted for the overall Team Points total.
4th category license holders are excluded from the British Women's Team Cup events.
Guest riders are allowed where teams are unable to field the full complement of riders for a race but they must be notified to Team Cup admin prior to the race and must ride in the team jersey of the team they are guesting for. Guest riders may only swap between teams up to twice in the racing season.
Any normal accepted method of entry accepted by race organisers. The organiser will send a copy of the race programme to the registered Team Manager by e-mail for onward distribution to all members of their team.
At the end of each race, the first 6 riders shall be presented with prize money. The team prize money for the first 3 teams will not be paid out on the day by the Organiser but it will be sent to Jon Miles. The accrued prize money will be paid out after the final race of the British Women's Team Cup. Plus, depending on how many teams register each year, extra prize money will be paid out to at least the top 3 placed teams in the overall series. There shall be no overall ‘Individual Classification’ as this is a team competition.
Individual riders or riders that are not members of a team that has registered for the British Women's Team Cup competition can compete in the races but are not eligible to receive team prize monies and should be aware that riders in teams that are already registered for the Team Cup competition will be prioritised for race entry acceptance.
Riders who are 15 minutes or more behind the main bunch as they enter the final lap
will be stopped on the finishing line by means of the chequered flag. They will still be given a finishing position that will entitle them to Team Cup points in that race.
Calculation of the team award shall be based upon the finishing position of the riders in each race with the first 4 riders in a team being awarded points as follows:
